Parish Workday October 15th 2016

To kickoff our 2016 Stewardship Campaign, we are going to give our Time on October 15th 2016 at a St Thaddeus Parish Workday.

Schedule

7:30 – 8:15
Breakfast in the Large Parlor
Menu: Grits, Eggs, Bacon or Sausage, Toast, Coffee, and Juice
8:15 – 8:30
Opening Prayer and gather into teams for Work Tasks
8:30 – 11:30
Begin Work Assignments
11:30 – 12:30
Lunch with Soup Kitchen
Menu: TBD
12:30 – Kickoff
Finish Work Tasks and clean up (we have showers)
Kickoff – End of Game
Enjoy Fellowship and Refreshments while
watching Football in the Large Parlor

Work available for all talent and skill levels and children are welcome (however no childcare will be provided).

Work Tasks

This is a chance to do something (or tell someone) about any physical thing that has
been bothering you about the St Thaddeus campus. If you have suggestions, contact the office, stthad@stthaddeus.org, or add them to the sheet in the Narthex.

  • Call the Parish – go through our directory and phone each member (script provided)
  • Paint the Cornish building
    • workroom
    • entryway
    • hallway
    • restrooms
  • Cemetery and Grounds
    • Raking outside the perimeter fence, along Richland
    • Raking and removing grass from around headstones
    • Picking up of broken limbs and other debris
    • Sodding as needed
  • SM building
    • remove wallpaper from 1st floor Men’s restroom foyer to determine difficulty and ascertain what will be required to paint it
    • if doable, paint room
  • Carpentry
    • Fix any broken book racks on pews in Sanctuary
    • Reduce height of church sacristy exterior door threshold
  • Plumbing
    • Fix leaking ice maker drain line in kitchen (if not in way of Soup Kitchen)
  • Electrical
    • Install emergency light on 2nd floor hallway of Mead Hall Lower School building (brick building)
