February outreach
The St Thaddeus soup kitchen will be featured at outreach Sunday, February 21, and throughout the month. Special donations to outreach and the loose offering on the 21st will be for the soup kitchen. Please mark your checks accordingly.
The soup kitchen serves about 150 meals each Saturday morning. This number includes meals delivered to St. Thaddeus shut-ins and take-homes for those who cannot get out. All parishioners are encouraged to come to the large parlor on a Saturday morning, observe, and roll up the sleeves to help. Help is needed, physical, financial and prayer.
St Thaddeus Home and Garden Tour
The St. Thaddeus Home and Garden Tour will be held on Saturday, March 27, from 10am-5pm. Tickets will be $25 and will be available after March 1st at the church, Plum Pudding, York Cottage and Material Things. The homes are spectacular this year, you won’t want to miss it. We shall need between 100 and 120 hosts and hostesses so please consider volunteering by signing up for a morning or afternoon shift after church today. You will be entitled to a $10 reduced priced ticket for the tour while helping St.Thaddeus raise funds for outreach within the Aiken community. There is also a sign up sheet for pound cakes needed for the Strawberries and Cream Tea, we would be most grateful if you could help.
Ticket Sales begin Monday, March 1
The 2010 St. Thaddeus Tour of Homes and Gardens informational poster is available and ready for distribution within the area. If you have a prominent spot to display the posters at your business, place of work, or within the community, please feel free to stop by the front desk in the Church office to pick one up.
POUND CAKE REMINDER: Pound Cake bakers for the Home Tour Tea (March 27) are asked to locate their recipes and get ready to bake! If you want to sign up to bake, please contact Cathy Harte or Dee James.
Church study group announcements

- This Sunday should be a special treat for the Sunday Bible Class. The Rev. Dr. Walter Dunnett, who with his wife Dolores has been visiting Aiken and St Thaddeus these past several weeks for a brief respite from the cold of Chicago, has kindly agreed to lead us through an academic comparison of Isaiah Chapters 7 – 11, which is what he outlined in class last Sunday.
