Vestry Minutes
March 18, 2009

ATTENDANCE: Rich Waugh, David Nichols, Clarke Saunders, Joe Mitchell, Frank Wise, Same McGill, Burt Tiffany, Jennifer Huff, Joseph Whitehurst, Julie Matson, Stephanie Price, Janine Hepner, Bob McClure, Paul Carroll, Anne Campbell, Sandra Bell.

The meeting was called to order by Frank Wise, followed by devotion presented by Anne Campbell.

Minutes from the February meeting were presented; Motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote to approve the February minutes.

Mead Hall: Stephanie Price presented the Mead Hall School Budget for 2009-2010 and moved that the budget be approved as presented. Motion was seconded by Anne Campbell and was approved by voice vote.

The Mead Hall School Board has nominated Kathy Urban Huff for an at large seat on the Board. Motion was made by Stephanie that the Vestry approve this nomination; motion was seconded by Anne Campbell and carried by voice vote.

Committee Reports. All committee reported in good standing with the exception of concerns voiced from the Soup Kitchen for funds; ushers not showing up on time; Stephen Ministers need money for training and voiced concern over lack of attention and support of priest and vestry.

Financial Report presented by Rich Waugh.

Church technology was discussed and a research team led by Joseph Whitehurst has been implemented.

Curate’s Report was presented by Joseph Whitehurst. The retirement of Bishop Henderson at the end of the year was discussed. The Transition Committee for the new Bishop should be finished by end of the year and a new Bishop in place by spring. Delegates to Convention vote for new Bishop. Our delegates are Frank Wise, Bob McClure, Sandra Bell and Kathie Fowler. Clarke Saunders is a delegate to convention from Convocation. First alternate is Kirsten Collins, and David Nichols serves as second alternate.

Joseph Whitehurst announced that the church food pantry was running low and it was suggested by Rich Waugh that the 1st and 3rd Sundays be designated for can good donations.

Joe Mitchell reported four youth from St. Thaddeus will be attending Happening March 20-22nd.

There being no further business, this meeting was closed with prayer.
