Adults

There are currently two adult formation classes on Sunday, as well as a Wednesday morning group. Come by and check them out!

The drop-in class meets at 10:00 am in the small parlor of the Stevenson-McClelland Building. The class is currently studying Living The Questions in Luke. Marianne Swearingen and Kathie Fowler are the facilitators. Please join us!

The Bible Class is studying the DVD series, “Jesus and the Gospels”, an in-depth analysis by Luke Timothy Johnson, the award-winning professor at Emory School of Theology. Taking each Gospel in turn, Professor Johnson discusses and contrasts their background, timetable, author, audience and theological perspective. For example, because both Matthew and Luke contain passages from Mark, most scholars believe Mark was written first and was available to Matthew and Luke. And Matthew is the most often quoted Gospel in churches today, mainly because it was written to early churches in the newly emerging Christian communities. You are very welcome to join us. Each lecture is self-contained, so you can join us at any time. We meet in the gym.

The Wednesday morning group meets at 9:30 am in the small parlor of the Stevenson-McClelland building. We are using the book “Luke for Everyone” by Tom Wright. Please come join us!
