Gravatt Conference Center and Camp

As an Episcopalian in the EDUSC, you can be proud of the accomplishments of Gravatt Camp and Conference Center. Each year Gravatt serves not only youth summer campers, but also welcomes clergy, church groups, schools, and civic groups for a time of retreat, education, fellowship, and spiritual renewal 355 days a year. Since becoming an independent 501/(c)/(3) entity in 2000, Gravatt does not receive budgeted financial support from the Diocese, making our individual and parish support imperative.

A big part of the Under the Tent event is the auction. Diana Cannon, Chair of the Acquisitions Committee, is asking that we donate items for this auction. Do you own a business that could contribute an item? Is there a favorite restaurant you frequent that might donate a lunch or dinner? Does your neighbor paint, or teach piano, or do handyman work? Artistic talent you could share? Is there a family-friendly park, museum, or festival in your area that would be willing to donate some admission tickets? Season tickets to ball games? A free or inexpensive suggestion for a donation is for a group to put together a basket of items to auction. A collection of children’s books, a basket of gardening items, church cookbooks, or family games all are wonderful ideas for baskets. Please put on your imaginative thinking caps and create some unique items for the Under the Tent auction. Each church donating one auction item to the Under the Tent fundraiser will make for a most successful event for Gravatt. Contact Diane Cannon for more information.
